DECAY | A curatorial project conceived by 7x8curators that considers the inherent benefits and cultural ramifications of decay. Selected international artists will create works that are intended to exist within the landscape, including site-specific projects, exposed to the natural elements and material changes over time. Urban works explore socio-cultural uncertainties that bring sentiments of loss and an inescapable decay. Working with the festival’s theme of the Berlin Wall, the exhibition will consider how ideological decay can similarly impact natural and manufactured environments. This exhibition focuses on artists actively documenting, initiating and preventing Decay, oscillating between meaning, process and creation. 7by8 DECAY Our Programme ARTplacc Contemporary Art Festival 16 - 20 July 2014 Tihany (HU) Révkikötő 8237 7x8 curators onsite Ashlee Conery | Paris Ho Leng | London / Vienna Roberta Palma | Rome 7x8 curators offsite Jordana Franklin | Toronto Kimberly Kitada | New York Ya'el Santopinto | Toronto Roberta's review Expanded Material, notes on 7x8 Decay |
